Most of us have a pretty good understanding that the goal of discipleship—or Spiritual formation—is the shaping of our inner lives such that we might more and more resemble Christ. And, that this inner shaping might increasingly reveal itself in our behaviour, choices, and relationships. But have you ever considered how the Holy Spirit undertakes this work? Have you wondered whether there are postures and practices that could deepen or even accelerate this process?
Decades of research across thousands of Christian lives confirm that spiritual growth is not random. It turns out there are indeed ways we can meaningfully identify and cooperate with the Holy Spirit’s curriculum of transformation.
This is what the JustLife Formation Intensive seeks to explore.
JustLife is a 3-day residential intensive, designed to lay a theological foundation for the lifelong process of formation. Together, we will create a pop-up community of Spiritual formation, where you can expect times of rich teaching, group work, solo reflection and engagement in spiritual practices. Together we will explore:
• How the overarching story of Scripture answers the deepest questions of the human heart.
• How God forms us in ways that resist the patterns of the world.
• How to identify and embrace the Spirit’s unique shaping work in our lives.
Who is this for?
The JustLife Formation Intensive is for followers of Jesus who:
• Are currently in or are facing a time of significant transition,
• Are in any kind of leadership role, paid or volunteer,
• Are looking for a safe place to explore the big questions,
• Are seeking a deeper integration between faith and life.
Participants will come away with the tools and understanding to identify and cooperate with God’s shaping activity in their own lives, which have the potential to genuinely accelerate and strengthen the processes of inner transformation.
FACILITATOR - Jeff Nagle
While working in the faith formation space since 2014, Jeff has also served in the Christian NGO sector for over two decades. In this time, Jeff served as COO with Compassion Australia, CEO of International Justice Mission Australia, and Chairman of Mission Aviation Fellowship Australia.
Jeff has served as CEO of student leader ministry, Compass Foundation, and as a Minister at Coast Community Church on the NSW Central Coast. He was co-founder of FairSupply, a supply chain ESG technology start-up, and lead consultant to Christian NGO’s, NFP’s, schools and churches with SEED Initiatives.
Jeff has qualifications in visual arts and media, education, business, and holds an MA in Global Leadership through Fuller Seminary. His area of special interest is the Spiritual formation of leaders and teams serving in difficult contexts.
Jeff lives on the NSW Central Coast with wife Shelley, and their two adult children. He still thinks he's a surfer!
Cost & Sponsorship
Each JustLife Intensive is held at the Barrington River Lodge, with registration covering accommodation, fully catered meals, and essential resources. Because of this, the cost is $500 per person. However, we recognise that this may not be feasible for everyone, and we do not want finances to be a barrier to attending. To help make these Intensives accessible, we're offering flexible payment options, including paying in full, paying in instalments, or requesting full or partial sponsorship.
